Who I am

My Life

Although I sang in school and was a part of all the various music programs, it was never my intention to get into singing - I wanted to model. I never got tall enough it seems, but I did go to modeling school to learn how to “walk” so that I could parade around at lots of different events that my agency booked for me.
One night I was at the Maxim Hotel & Casino (it isn’t even there anymore, but I know someone must remember the place, and yes, I was very under age at the time) anyhow, I was watching a weekly showcase where anyone was welcome to get on stage and do their thing - well, the rest is history. I went up and sang, they liked me, so I joined a band! It was me and another girl who got to sing background vocals for an Elvis Impersonator!!! I know what you are thinking, but I had to start somewhere, besides, I got to hand him his cape!!!

For the past 26 years, I have performed all over the U.S. including countless casino lounges in Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe, and Atlantic City headlining in my own show called Diana Drake & Design during the 1980's and opened up for many artists in the main showrooms.

I took my show to a "royal" peak when I starred at the world renowned
Cabaret du Casino in Monte Carlo, Monaco, in 1986. Drinking champagne with Prince Rainier and Prince Albert of Monaco had to be one of the most memorable days I’ve ever had.

I caught the eye of Playboy upon my return to the states and joined up with their show called Playboy's Girls of Rock and Roll as a featured headliner. The show ran at the Maxim Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and Caesar's Palace, Lake Tahoe.

I moved to the Los Angeles area in the early 90's and found Jazz rooms, supper clubs, and piano bars my home while I pursued a record contract.

Now, along with HEARTLESS, I am back to singing my favorites: Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Ann Wilson of HEART, Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Linda Ronstadt, and the like.

Diana Drake Grew up in Las Vegas, NV - I am now 4X years old! OMG! I wanted to be a Model but found myself in Showbiz instead...not that modeling isn’t Showbiz...but, well, rock & roll? Mom and Dad were supportive none the less.

I currently reside in Los Angeles, California with my FurBaby Simba, a domestic shorthair cat.
